A few days ago, the General Administration of Market Supervision issued an announcement, since August 1, 2023, lithium-ion batteries and battery packs, mobile power supply implementation of CCC certification management. Since August 1, 2024, without the CCC certification and marked certification mark, may not be factory, sale, import or use in other business activities.
With the advent of the mobile Internet era, mobile phones, tablets and laptops have become an important part of People's Daily life. Lithium batteries and mobile power supplies (commonly known as charging treasure), as the "oil storage tank" and "gas station" of these products, also provide great convenience for people to enjoy mobile life.
However, due to the chemical characteristics of lithium batteries and charging banks themselves, such as the use of flammable organic electrolytes, there are certain potential risks "congenital". Especially when the production process and structure of the product does not meet the technical requirements of national standards, or in the transportation and use links, suffer from extreme high and low temperatures, serious bumps, long-term overcharging and other special circumstances, it is easy to occur thermal runaway, causing battery swelling and then causing fire, explosion, overheating or leakage and other safety problems, directly endangering the personal health and safety of consumers.
China is a large consumer of lithium batteries and charging treasure, and the scale of China's lithium batteries and related industries has jumped to the first place in the world. According to the results of the national supervision of product quality, the pass rate of lithium-ion batteries for mobile phones is less than 90%, and the pass rate of mobile power supplies has been hovering between 60% and 80%.
In order to strengthen the quality and safety supervision of lithium batteries, charging banks and other products, in September 2022, The General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Deepening the reform of the Management System of the Electronic and Electrical Industry", which clearly requires that lithium batteries and mobile power supplies with higher safety risks be included in the mandatory product certification management, that is, CCC certification known to consumers. It is a market access system implemented by the Chinese government in accordance with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations and international practices, and in accordance with the principles of marketization and internationalization for products involving personal health and safety.
The General Administration of Market Supervision reminds the majority of consumers that when purchasing lithium batteries and charging banks, they must look for the CCC mark, and pay attention to the potential risks that may still arise from improper use. If you want to reduce the probability of dangerous occurrence, you should develop good habits:
Try to avoid using electronic products while charging, or charging products for a long time, which will increase the risk of heat.
Do not replace the charger at will, some fast charger charging power is larger, but for some batteries with no limit protection design may cause overvoltage or overcurrent charging, resulting in safety risks.
Do not disassemble the product or replace the battery at will, for non-professionals, the choice of tools and whether the installation of disassembly is skilled will bring stimulation or even damage to the mobile phone battery.
To timely repair and replacement, electronic products soaked or exposed to the sun, should be promptly sent to the professional repair shop for inspection and confirmation, if necessary to replace the lithium battery.
